So the boyfriend and I were driving LA this afternoon, passing through Beverly Hills we see that there’s a street showing for art and celebrations taking place, making him park up and cheek it out with me we came across the coolest stuff. So the event was ‘Affaire in the Gardens, Art Show’ and was featuring more than 200 exhibitions of nation wide artists including painting, sculpture, watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramics, jewelry, drawings and printmaking.
Beverly Hills- flea market prices I think not (so we passed on the $3000 pieces…). But it was still awesome to cheek out what was on offer and pick up some inspiration (moving apartments at the end of the month and looking for some decoration hits) and sip handmade fresh lemonade!
I wish ya’ll could have cheeked it out- the handmade copper jewelry was so cute and original just like some of the art. I’ve never been a super traditional girl so of course my eye is drawn to the more quirky and original pieces on show.
How much did I love the City Art Photography? Much! So Mindy Maertinsen snaps letters or objects masquerading as letters (think Palm Trees acting as the letter I) and places the pics together to create fabulousness! Her single shoots when placed together spell out words like LOVE, HOPE, CASA…in fact any word you want since she’s the Queen of custom orders. I was quick to pick up LOVE with my love.
Now who doesn’t love their pooch? Come on I’m in LA of course I’ve grown a soft spot for pint sized yappies- and that is who Heather at LeftPaw caters to. You could pick up original painting in shocking hues of most pups and even have a custom one ordered. Striking.
Cheek out their websites they were by far the best of the show and when all others we charging Chanel prices $80-$150 was a refreshing breezzzzzzzzze.
