Oscar Beauty

Best Actor, Best Motion Picture....yeah yeah we will be hearing about these categories endlessly. But a different award caught my attention: Best Makeup in Film.

Three nominees battled for the title, Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano for Ill Divo, Barney Burman, Mindy Hall and Joel Harlow for Star Trek and Jon Henry Gordon and Jenny Shircore for The Young Victoria.

Personally I was hoping for the artistic brushes behind The Young Victoria- love period pieces, and I love the makeup story behind Queen Victoria. Did ya'll know that when Queen Victoria was found dead she had 2inches of makeup on her face- gross I know! Her makeup and her appearance was such a large and important part of her presence and speaks greatly of her time in history.
Back to the Oscars...golden man went to Star Trek's threesome. I’m no Star Trek fan but even I can’t argue this, the makeup truly belongs in another world. The craftsmanship deserves recognition.

I wish there was greater emphasis on Best Makeup (Best Costume too), I know no leading lady will not be caught on screen without her High Definition Foundation! What is a film without makeup, it would be the same as eating a cupcake without the frosting, child perlease!
